Gov. Riley of Alabama ordered troopers to shutdown bingo halls in the state. He also ordered the bingo machines to be confiscated since it is essentially slot machines.
Speaker Robert DeLeo said that allowing casino and slots gambling expansion will give the state additional revenues. Gov. Deval Patrick has no comment on Speaker DeLeos plan.
Cordish Cos. plans to build a slots facility in Anne Arundel County. The slots issue will be place in a vote in November 2010.
